Kari Bentley-Quinn is a playwright based in New York City, born and raised in the little coast town of Stratford, Connecticut. She graduated from Pace University in New York City in 2003 with a BA in Theater Arts and minors in Psychology and Women’s Studies.

Kari has studied playwriting with Richard Caliban, Paul Zimmerman, and Mac Wellman. Kari also worked with the Play Development Collective (headed by Suzanne Agins, Josh Hecht, and Meredith McDonough).

TUMBLING AFTER, a full length drama, was presented as a staged reading at Schaeberle Studio Theater in 2006 in conjunction with Packawallop Productions, and a ten minute selection was read in a reading series sponsored by Naked Angels. Kari’s full length play, THE PERMANENT NIGHT made its World Premiere at FringeNYC in August 2008 at the Barrow Street Theater. Kari’s full length play, UNBLESSED, was presented as a staged reading in January 2010 as part of Packawallop Productions’ The Lounge Series. In addition to these plays, Kari has written several short and one act plays, including THE NEG (a ten minute comedy for Effable Arts), HAIR OF THE DOG, LE DANSEUR, and WITH BENEFITS. Kari’s play PAPER CRANES made its World Premiere at the Access Theater in Spring 2011, directed by Scott Ebersold, produced by Packawallop Productions. Kari is currently writing the book for a new musical called THE GOOD FIGHT with composer Jason Loffredo.

Kari is a member of The Dramatists Guild and a board member of Packawallop Productions.
